Our moxa sticks are made from carefully selected mugwort harvested around the Dragon Boat Festival, sourced from Qichun, Hubei — the renowned “Hometown of Mugwort” at 30°N latitude.
At moxiherb, we manage our own mugwort plantations in this origin region. Thanks to the abundant rainfall and long hours of sunshine, Qichun mugwort contains higher levels of essential oils and flavonoids, resulting in stronger and more soothing moxibustion sensations.
We handpick the first harvest leaves, manually remove impurities and stems, and retain only the clean, high-quality leaves.
Naturally Aged and Tempered
The wild mugwort leaves are naturally air-dried and aged for over three years. This process helps to reduce the harshness of the raw herb, resulting in a much gentler, smoother moxa experience.

1. Harvesting
Our mugwort is harvested around the Dragon Boat Festival, when it’s rich in yang energy and active compounds — the ideal state for moxibustion.
2. Sun-Drying
Fresh leaves are laid under the sun for natural drying, which helps preserve the active ingredients without artificial intervention.
3. Aging
Once dried, the leaves are packed and stored in a cool, dry warehouse for natural aging, enhancing their therapeutic qualities.
4. Moxa Wool Extraction
Using our proprietary extraction technology, we gently separate the fine moxa wool while minimizing damage to the active components. The result is a cleaner, softer, and more potent product with excellent permeability.
Authentic Materials, High-Purity Aged Moxa Wool
We support custom blends in any ratio — the higher the moxa-to-leaf ratio, the more refined and effective the final product.
Knowledge Tip:
A 10:1 ratio means 10 kg of mugwort leaves are used to make 1 kg of moxa wool.
A 35:1 ratio uses 35 kg of leaves for 1 kg of moxa, making it finer and richer in effective compounds. The higher the ratio, the better the moxibustion quality.
